Postal Worker Is Fatally Stabbed at a Bodega in Harlem
The police had a person of interest in custody, but no charges had been filed. Investigators did not identify the victim.
A United States Post Office employee was stabbed to death at a bodega in Harlem on Thursday afternoon, a Police Department spokesman said.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 2:38 p.m. about a disturbance at the store on Lenox Avenue between West 118th and 119th Streets, the spokesman said. They found the victim, a 36 year-old man, with stab wounds.
The man was taken to Harlem Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead. As of Thursday evening, the police had not released the victim’s name.
No arrests had been made in the case by Thursday evening, but the police said they had taken a person of interest into custody. The police did not release the person’s name.
