At Least 35 Killed After Man Drives Into Crowd in Southern China
The police in the city of Zhuhai detained a man who they said had driven into people who were exercising at a sports center, state news media reported.
The police in China said on Tuesday that 35 people had died after a man drove a vehicle into a crowd in the southern city of Zhuhai, state news media reported.
A police report from the Zhuhai Municipal Public Security Bureau said 43 others had been injured after a man drove into people who were exercising at a city sports center on Monday evening, according to the People’s Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party.
The police detained the driver, who was identified as a 62-year-old man. He drove a small off-road vehicle to break through the gate of the sports center, the police said.
